New TRUMPF Trulaser cell 7040 high speed / high precision laser processing machine

Visit the recently expanded laser applications lab at Fraunhofer Plymouth, Michigan on June 4th for our annual open house event. There will be live laser processing demonstrations and a fantastic selection of food and beverages at our annual networking event.

Fraunhofer will showcase some of its new state of the art laser machines including 6 kW lasers from IPG and TRUMPF with 100 micron fiber capability. The new TRUMPF 7040 5 axis CNC laser processing machine offers a work envelope of 4 m (13.1 ft) x 1.5 m (4.9 ft) and features new dual core fiber technology and a motorized welding optic representing the first machine of this kind to be installed in North America. This machine can switch quickly from 3D cutting to 3D welding applications.

Several new robotic work cells have also been added including an expanded KUKA robotic cell with a linear track providing a work envelope of over 4 m (13.1 ft) x 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and an extended reach (3.1 m) KUKA KR90 robotic work cell.

Also being showcased for the first time will be our new state of the art scanner system from Blackbird Robotic Systems enabling high speed remote welding and the possibility for edge welding with seam tracking.
